Materials

300 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Cream (046) Main


Small amounts of King Cole big value baby DK in two contrast colours for flowers


Small amount of Green for leaves and centre of flowers


OR

10.5oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in Main Color

Small amounts of Light Worsted Weight #3 Yarn in two contrast colors for flowers

Small amount of Green for leaves and centre of flowers


6.50mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks


GAUGE - 4hdc and 3 rows of hdc's measures approx 1 inch square

Main Part - Using 6.50mm hook and main color ch76, change to 5.00mm hook, 1hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1hdc in each ch to end. Turn. (74hdc + ch2)


Pattern Row - ch2, 1hdc in each hdc to end, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn. Rpt last row until 80 rows have been worked in all or work measures approx 26 inches from beginning. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each hdc to end, 1sc in top of ch2. Turn. (75sc)


Fold Over (Optional)

Working in back loop of sc only for this row, work Pattern Row once. Turn.

Working through both loops of stitch from now on work Pattern Row eleven more times. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each st to end, 1sc in top of ch2. Turn. Repeat last row once. Turn.


Decorative Edge - * ch3, dc3tog (see abbrev) in next sc, ch3, sl st in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Fasten off.


Blanket Edge - With the front of the blanket towards you. Fold forward onto the front, the rows that you crocheted after the loose loops (pic 1). (15 rows)


Using 5.00mm hook, rejoin yarn to left corner (pic 2), ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, working in row ends and catching in fold over as you go, work 83sc evenly along down first side of blanket to corner, 3sc in corner, work 1sc in each ch along cast on edge to corner, 3sc in corner, working in row ends, work 83sc evenly along up second side of blanket to corner catching in fold over same as first side. Turn. Starting with ch1, work 1 more row of 1sc in each sc, down first side, along

bottom and up second side, working 3sc in corners. Turn.

Decorative Edge - * ch3, dc3tog in next sc, ch3, sl st in each of next 2sc,

* rpt from * to * around all three sides of blanket. Fasten off.


Flower Motif x 2 - (Worked in rounds without turning) With 5.00mm hook and green color yarn ch4, sl st to first ch to make a ring, ch1, work 9sc in ring, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


With contrast color yarn, work ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 2sc in each of next 8sc,

sl st to first sc. (18sc)


Petals - * ch3, dc3tog in next sc, ch3, sl st in next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to base of ch3. Fasten off. (6 petals made)


Leaf - With green color yarn and 4.00mm hook ch10, 3dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next ch3, 1hdc in next ch, 1sc in next ch,  (sl st, ch2, sl st) in last ch, (makes a point), working on opposite side of cast on ch, work 1sc in next ch, 1hdc in next ch, 1dc in each of next ch3, 3dc in last ch, sl st to top of ch3. Fasten off. (Make as many as you want)


Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn, sew flowers and leaf/es randomly to blanket.
