GAUGE - 5hdc and 4 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Sweater Back (Rib) - # With color 1, ch6, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch
to end. Turn. (5sc)
Next Row - Working in back loop only ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end.
Rpt last row until you have 45sc rows in all.
Body - Working along the side of rib, ch1, (RS) 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each row
end to end. Fasten off. Turn. (45sc)
Join in color 2
Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.
Row 3 - Rpt Row 2. Fasten off Turn.
Row 4 - Join in color 3, ch2, 1hdc in base of ch2, * skip 1sc, (1hdc, ch1, 1hdc)
in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, skip 1sc, 2hdc in last sc. Turn. (21 vst)
Row 5 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * ch1, dc3tog (see abbrev) in next ch1 space, *
rpt from * to * to end, ch1, skip 1hdc, dc2tog (see abbrev) in top of ch2. Turn.

Work 3 more row in sc on these 12 sc stitches. Turn.
Next Row (Buttonholes) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, ch2, skip next

Shape Neck (Side 1) - ch2, 1hdc in base of ch2, 1hdc in each of next 13hdc. Turn.

Next Row (Dec Row) - ch2, 1hdc in base of ch2, 1dc in each of next 10hdc, dec 1 (see

Join in color 2 and starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to
end. Turn. (27sc)
Next Row - (Inc Row) ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each of next 25sc, 2sc
in last sc. Fasten off. Turn.
Join in color 3 and rpt Rows 4 to 7 from back of sweater. (13 dc3tog) Fasten off.
Turn.
Next Row - (Inc Row) Join in color 2, ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc3tog
and ch1 space to end, 2sc in top of ch3. Turn. (31sc)
Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off. Turn.
Join in color 1
Next Row - (Inc Row) ch2, 2hdc in base of ch2, 1hdc in each of next 29sc, 2hdc in
last sc. Fasten off. Turn.
Continue in hdc stitch increasing each end of every alternate row by working 2hdc
in the base of ch2 and 2hdc in last hdc until 37hdc remain.
Continue working in hdc without increasing until your work measures approx 6 inches
from beginning. Fasten off.
With WS side facing, join right hand side shoulder seam together by over sewing with
a needle and yarn, leave left shoulder seam open (the side with extra rows on back
for fold over and buttonholes)
Neck Edge - Using color 1 and with RS facing and starting on side of open shoulder,
work 10sc down front edge, 17sc across front, 10sc up second front edge, 1sc in each
of 21sc along back, sl st to each of the 2 rows on buttonhole flap. Turn. (58sc)
Next Row - ch1, skip 2 sl st, 1sc in each of next 30sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc
in each of next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn. Fasten
off.
Finishing - Fold sleeves in half lengthways, then placing centre folds to shoulder,
over sew with needle and yarn in position. Join side and sleeve seams together in
the same way.
Weave in and tie off any loose end of yarn and trim, sew on buttons to correspond
with buttonholes on shoulders.
