6.00mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 4tr and 2 rows of pattern measures approx 1” 5.00mm hook

With 6.00mm hook make 159ch, change to 5.00mm hook, work 5tr group (see abbrev) into 6th from hook, * miss 2ch, 1tr into next ch, miss 2ch, 5tr group into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch, miss 2ch, 1tr into last ch. Turn. (26, 5tr groups)

Pattern Row - 3ch, * miss 2tr, 5tr into centre tr of next 5tr group, miss 2tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 5ch. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row working last tr into top of 3ch until 62 rows have been worked. Turn.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (52, 2ch spaces)

Edging - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, * 2dc into 2ch space, 1dc into dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 3dc into last dc, work 2dc into each row end down first side of shawl to next corner, 3dc into corner, rpt from * to * along cast on edge (working into base of tr's not dc's) to next corner, 3dc into corner, work 2dc into each row end up second side of shawl to last corner, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc. Turn.

Row 2 - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc around four sides of shawl, working 3dc into each corner, on the end of the row work 1dc into base of 1ch and ss to first dc on the beginning of row. Turn.

Row 3 - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each dc around four sides of shawl, working 3tr into each corner, 1tr into base of 3ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Cluster Row - 1ch, (1dc, 4ch, 1cl) into base of 1ch, * miss 2tr, (1dc, 4ch, 1cl) into next tr, * rpt from * to * around four sides to last 2tr, miss last 2tr, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (see abbrev for cl stitch)

Finishing - Weave in any loose ends of yarn, decorate with ribbon if required.
