Base of ch. Work in first stitch

To fit size approx:- 0 - 3 month baby

Skirt length from waist approx 8 inches

Materials

80 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Color 1

10 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Colors 2 & 3

OR

3oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 in Color 1

0.5oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 in Colors 2 & 3

4.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - 5sc and 5 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

Waistband - With 4.00mm hook and color 1 ch11, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. (10sc)

Next Row - Working in back loop of stitch only ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 80 rows have been worked in all. DNT.

Fold waistband in half and with WS facing sl st cast on edge and the last row you worked together to make a circle. Do not fasten off.

Skirt - Using 4.50mm hook and working along the side of the waistband and in the row ends, ch1, 1sc in each row end to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row to make a round. Turn. (80sc)

Next Row - ch1, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in base of ch1, * skip 1sc, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, skip sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (40sc groups)

Pattern Row - sl st over next 2sc, * (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in next ch2 space, skip 4sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until 15, sc group rows have been worked. Fasten off.

Working sc group in first ch2 space, work Pattern Row once in color 2, once in color 3 and twice in color 1. Fasten off.

Chain Tie - Using color 3 with 5.00mm hook ch101. Fasten off.

Make 2 small pom-poms in color 2, I used the clover pom-pom maker size 20

Finishing - Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, starting on the front of skirt thread chain tie through alternate sc's around centre of waistband, (optional start/finish I put mine on the side of the skirt) attach a pom-pom to each end.
