135 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in colour 1

45 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in colour 2

15 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in colour 3

5.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 5tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

With 5.00mm hook and colour 1 make 78ch loosely, 1tr into 3rd ch from hook, (RS) 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. Fasten off. (76tr)

Row 2 - Join in contrast colour make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end. Fasten off. Turn.

Row 3 - Join in colour 1, make 2ch, 1tr into base of 2ch, * 2tr into next 2ch space, 1tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Row 4 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end. Turn.

Row 5 - 2ch, 1tr into base of 2ch, 1tr into each dc to end. Turn. Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Rows 2 to 5, alternating contrast colours 2 and 3 on Row 2 eleven more times or until work measures approx 17 Inches in all.

Work Rows 2 & 3 once.

Change to 4.50mm hook.

Border - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, 3dc into corner, work 64dc evenly into row ends down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along cast on edge, 3dc into corner, work 64dc evenly into row ends up second side of blanket, ss to next dc. Turn.

Starting with 2ch, 1tr into base of 2ch, work 1tr into each dc to end, working 3tr into corners, ss to first tr on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each tr to end, working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.

Using colour 3, rpt last row twice. Fasten off. Turn.

Frill - Join in colour 2 to any 3ch space on a corner, work 2ch, (3tr, 3ch, 3tr) into same space, * 2tr into next dc, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working (3tr, 3ch, 3tr) into each 3ch space on corners. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each tr to end, work 3dc into each 3ch space on corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim.
