GAUGE - 5dc and 3 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Sweater Back (Rib) -
# With 4.00mm hook and color 1, ch7, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to
end. Turn. (6sc)
Next Row - Working in back loop only ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end.
Rpt last row until you have 35sc rows in all. DNT.
Working along the side of rib, ch3, 1dc in each row end. Fasten off. Turn. (34dc
+ ch3)
Bobble Row - Join in color 2, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc * MB (see abbrev)
in next dc, 1sc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last sc in
top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (11 Bobbles)
Next Row - Working over the Bobble Row in the first dc row, join in color 1 to top
of of ch3, ch3, fpdc around next dc, * 1sc in top of bobble, 1fpdc around each of
next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (see abbrev for fpdc)
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each st to end. Turn. (35sc)
Pattern Row 1 - ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. Turn.
Pattern Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3.
Turn.
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 six more times or until work measures approx 6.5 Inches from
beginning (including rib). Fasten off. Turn. You can do more or less rows here if
you wish. #
Back Split - Join in color 2, ch3, 1dc in each of next 16sc. Fasten off, turn leaving
18sc un-worked.
Bobble Row - Join in color 1, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc * MB in next
dc, 1sc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last sc in top of
ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (5 Bobbles)
Next Row - Working over the Bobble Row in the dc row, join in color 2 to top of of
ch3, ch3, fpdc around next dc, * 1sc in top of bobble, 1fpdc around each of next
2dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each st to end. Turn. (17sc)
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 four more times until work measures approx 10 inches from
beginning. Fasten off.
Return to un-worked sc, skip 1sc, rejoin color 2 to next sc, ch3, 1dc in each sc
to end. Fasten off. Turn.
Starting with Bobble Row work second half same as first. Fasten off.
Sweater Front - Rpt from # to # on back of sweater.
Join in color 2, ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. Fasten off. Turn. (34dc + ch3)
Bobble Row - Join in color 1, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc * MB in next

Shape Neck
Side 1 - ch3, 1dc in each of next 11dc, turn leaving 23sc un-worked. (11dc + ch3)
2nd Row (Dec Row) - ch1, dec 1sc (see abbrev) over first 2dc, 1sc in each dc to end,
1sc in top of ch3. Turn. (11sc)
3rd Row - ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. Turn.
4th Row (Dec Row) - Rpt 2nd Row (10sc)
5th Row - Rpt 3rd Row.
6th Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Fasten
off.
Shape Neck
Side 2 - Return to remaining stitches on front neck, skip 11sc, join color 2 to next
dc, ch3, 1dc in each of next 11sc. Turn. (11dc + ch3)
Row 2 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 9dc, dec 1sc over
next dc and ch3 to turn with. Turn. (11sc)
Row 3 - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end. Turn.
Row 4 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 8dc, dec 1sc over
next dc and ch3 to turn with. Turn. (10sc)
Row 5 - Rpt Row 3.
Row 6 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Fasten
off.
Sleeves x 2 - Starting with rib and color 1, ch7, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in
each ch to end. Turn. (6sc)
Next Row - Working in back loop only ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end.
Rpt last row until you have 24sc rows worked in all. DNT.
Next Row - (Inc Row) Working along the side of rib, ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc
in each of next 22 row ends, work 2dc in last row end. Fasten off. Turn. (25dc +
ch3)
Bobble Row - Join in color 2, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc * MB in next
dc, 1sc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last sc in top of
ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (8 Bobbles)
Next Row - Working over the Bobble Row in the first dc row, join in color 1 to top
of of ch3, ch3, fpdc around next dc, * 1sc in top of bobble, 1fpdc around each of
next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each st to end. Turn. (26sc)
Increase Row - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each sc to last sc, 2dc in last sc.
Turn. (27dc + ch3)
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.
Rpt last 2 rows until you have 34sc in total, rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 once, or until
sleeve measures approx 5 Inches from beginning (including rib). Fasten off.
Join shoulder seams by over sewing with needle and yarn, fold sleeves in half lengthways,
then placing centre folds to shoulders over sew in position, over sew side and sleeve
seams together.
Neck Edge - Using color 1 with RS facing, start at base of split on right side of
back opening, work 15sc evenly up back edge to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each
sc along top of back edge to shoulder, 8sc evenly down first front edge, 1sc in each
of next 11sc across centre of front, 8sc evenly up second front edge to shoulder,
1sc in each sc along the top of the back edge, 3sc in corner, 15sc evenly down back
edge to end. Turn. (75sc).
Next Row - (Buttonholes written for a girl, swap sides for a boy) ch1, 1sc in base
of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc around neck to next
corner, 1sc in corner, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 5sc, * rpt from * to
* once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of remaining sc. Turn.
Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to corner. Fasten
off.
Return to opposite back edge and working from neck downwards, rejoin yarn to corner,
ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.
Finishing - Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, sew on buttons to correspond
with buttonholes.
