Materials

100 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Colour 1

30 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Colour 2

4.50mm crochet hook


TENSION - 4tr and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Hat - With 4.50mm hook, make 70ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, make 3ch, (RS) 1tr into each ch, to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn (69tr + 3ch)


Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3 ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last row until 13 rows have been worked in all. Turn.


Brim - With WS facing, working into back loop only work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (70dc)


Pattern Row 1 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * ps (see abbrev) into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work ps into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (35 ps)


Pattern Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 3 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * ps into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 4 - Rpt Pattern Row 2. Fasten off.


Join in colour 2 and work Pattern Rows 1 to 4. Fasten off.


Join in colour 1 and work Pattern Rows 1 to 4. Fasten off.


Using colour 2 make a medium pom-pom, leave length of yarn to sew onto hat with. I used Clover Pom-Pom maker size 45 .


Finishing - With WS facing, gather top edge, (starting chain edge) sew pom-pom to gathered top of hat, turn through to right side. Fold back brim.


Scarf - With 4.50mm hook and colour 1, make 12ch, (RS) 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (11dc).


Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * ps into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (5 ps)


Row 3 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end. Turn.


Row 4 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * ps into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 1dc into dc. Turn.


Row 5 - Rpt Row 3.


Rpt Rows 2 and 3 once. Fasten off.


Join in colour 2 and rpt Rows 4, 5, 2 and 3. Fasten off


Join in colour 1 and rpt Rows 4, 5, 2 and 3 until 49 ps rows have been worked in all from beginning or work measures approx 23 inches (you can add more pattern rows here if you wish) Fasten off. Turn.


Join in colour 2 and rpt Rows 4, 5, 2 & 3. Fasten off. Turn.


Join in colour 1 and work Rows 4 & 5 followed by Rows 2 to 5 Turn.


Scarf Edging - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 9dc, 3dc into corner, work 107dc evenly into row ends down first side of scarf, 3dc into corner, 9dc along bottom of scarf, (starting ch) 3dc into corner, 107dc evenly into row ends up second side of scarf, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn. (242dc).


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc all around 4 sides of scarf, working 3dc into 3 of the corners, 1dc into last corner, ss to first dc. Fasten off.


Make 16 Tassels - (8 in each colour) For each tassel cut 2 lengths of yarn 4 inches long, (or required length), fold in half, thread open ends through dc, pull through loop you have created and secure. Edge both ends with the tassels in every alternate dc, trim to make even.


Mitts - With colour 1 make magic circle, with 4.50mm hook, make 3ch, (RS) work 9tr into ring, pull loose thread to close circle, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn. (9tr + 3ch)


Round 2 - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 2dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn.  (20dc)


Round 3 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn.


Round 4 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * ps into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work ps into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (10 ps)


Round 5 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end. Turn. (20dc)


Fasten off. Join in colour 2.


Round 6 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * ps into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.


Round 7 - Rpt Round 5.


Round 8 & 9 - Rpt Rounds 4 & 5. Fasten off.


Join in colour 1 and rpt Rounds 6 & 7.


Round 12 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn.


Round 13 - (Eyelet Holes) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, make 1ch, miss last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn.


Round 14 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each 1ch space and dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn. (20dc)


Rounds 15 to 17 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Fasten off.


Chain Tie - With colour 2 make 65ch. Fasten off.


Finishing - With WS facing, weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn. Turn through to RS, placing ss seam on to side of mitt, thread chain tie through eyelet holes on wrist and tie a bow to front.
