Materials

100 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Color 1

30 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Color 2


OR

3.5oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 in color 1

1.05oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 in color 2

4.50mm crochet hook


GAUGE - 4dc and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Hat - With 4.50mm hook, ch70, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch3, (RS) 1dc in each ch, to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn (69dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of 3 ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last row until 13 rows have been worked in all. Turn.


Brim - With WS facing, working in back loop only ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (70sc)


Pattern Row 1 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ps (see abbrev) in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, work ps in last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (35 ps)


Pattern Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each stitch to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 3 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, * ps in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row 4 - Rpt Pattern Row 2. Fasten off.


Join in color 2 and work Pattern Rows 1 to 4. Fasten off.


Join in color 1 and work Pattern Rows 1 to 4. Fasten off.


Using color 2 make a medium pom-pom, I used Clover Pom-Pom maker size 45 leave length of yarn to sew onto hat with.


Finishing - With WS facing, gather top edge, (starting chain edge) sew pom-pom to gathered top of hat, turn through to right side. Fold back brim.


Scarf - With 4.50mm hook and color 1, ch12, (RS) 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (11sc).


Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ps in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (5 ps)


Row 3 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each stitch to end. Turn.


Row 4 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, * ps in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, work 1sc in sc. Turn.


Row 5 - Rpt Row 3.


Rpt Rows 2 and 3 once. Fasten off.


Join in color 2 and rpt Rows 4, 5, 2 and 3. Fasten off


Join in color 1 and rpt Rows 4, 5, 2 and 3 until 49 ps rows have been worked in all from beginning or work measures approx 23 inches (you can add more pattern rows here if you wish) Fasten off. Turn.


Join in color 2 and rpt Rows 4, 5, 2 & 3. Fasten off. Turn.


Join in color 1 and work Rows 4 & 5 followed by Rows 2 to 5 Turn.


Scarf Edging - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 9sc, 3sc in corner, work 107sc evenly in row ends down first side of scarf, 3sc in corner, 9sc along bottom of scarf, (starting ch) 3sc in corner, 107sc evenly in row ends up second side of scarf, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc. Turn. (242sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc all around 4 sides of scarf, working 3sc in 3 of the corners, 1sc in last corner, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Make 16 Tassels - (8 in each color) For each tassel cut 2 lengths of yarn 4 inches long, (or required length), fold in half, thread open ends through sc, pull through loop you have created and secure. Edge both ends with the tassels in every alternate sc, trim to make even.


Mitts - With color 1 make magic circle, with 4.50mm hook, ch3, (RS) work 9dc in ring, pull loose thread to close circle, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Turn. (9dc + ch3)


Round 2 - ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 2sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn.  (20sc)


Round 3 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn.


Round 4 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ps in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, work ps in last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (10 ps)


Round 5 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each stitch to end. Turn. (20sc)


Fasten off. Join in color 2.


Round 6 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, * ps in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Round 7 - Rpt Round 5.


Round 8 & 9 - Rpt Rounds 4 & 5. Fasten off.


Join in color 1 and rpt Rounds 6 & 7.


Round 12 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn.


Round 13 - (Eyelet Holes) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch1, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, ch1, skip last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn.


Round 14 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch1 space and sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn. (20sc)


Rounds 15 to 17 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Fasten off.


Chain Tie - With color 2 ch65. Fasten off.


Finishing - With WS facing, weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn. Turn through to RS, placing sl st seam on to side of mitt, thread chain tie through eyelet holes on wrist and tie a bow to front.
