Materials

45 grams of King Cole melody in sprinkle (1567)

4.00mm crochet hook

TENSION - 5tr and 2 rows of tr measures approx 1 inch

Frilly Hat - With 4.00mm hook and main colour yarn make 6ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, 3ch, work 13tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. (13tr + 3ch)

 

2nd Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. (27tr + 3ch)

 

3rd Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from

* to * to last tr, 1tr into last tr, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. (41tr + 3ch)

 

4th Round - 3ch, 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * 1tr into each of next 2tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. (55tr + 3ch)

 

5th Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into each of next 3tr, 2tr into next tr,

* rpt from * to * to last 3tr, 1tr into each of last 3tr, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.

(69tr + 3ch)

 

Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn. Rpt last row six more times, making 12 rounds in all.

 

Brim - Working into back loop of stitch only, work 3ch, 2tr into base of 3ch, 3tr

into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn. (209tr + 3ch)

Next Row - Working through both loops from now on make 3ch, 1tr into each tr

to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, thread ribbon through alternate tr’s above and around top of brim.
