Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK in colours 1 & 2

5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hook, 2 pearl buttons


TENSION - 6htr and 3 rows of htr's measures approx 1” square

Commence with Sole -

With 4.00mm hook and colour 1, make 11ch loosely, (RS) 3htr into 4th ch from hook, 1htr into each of next 6ch, 8htr into last ch, working on opposite side of cast on ch, work 1htr into each of next 6ch, 4htr into last ch, ss to top of the 3ch on beginning of row. DNT. (27htr + 2ch)


Round 2 - 2ch, work 2htr into each of next 3htr, 1htr into each of next 8htr, 2htr into each of next 6htr, 1htr into each of next 8htr, 2htr into each of last 2htr, 1htr into base of 2ch, ss to top of 2ch. DNT. (39htr + 2ch)


Round 3 - 2ch, miss first htr, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into base of 2ch, ss to top of 2ch. Fasten off. DNT. (39htr + 2ch)


Next Round - Join in colour 2, working into back loop of stitch only, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each htr to end, ss to first dc. Turn (40dc)


Next Round - Working through both loops make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn (40dc)


Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Instep

With WS facing and counting from where you fastened off, miss 10dc, rejoin yarn with a ss to next dc, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next 19dc. Turn leaving 10dc un-worked. (20dc)


Row 2 - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, (9 times), 1dc into last dc. Turn. (11dc) (see abbrev for dec)


Row 3 - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc in base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc (5 times). Turn. (6dc)


Row 4 - Make 1ch, insert hook and pull up loop in each dc, yrh and pull through all 7 loops on hook to close, work 1ch. Turn.


Top - 1ch, work 4dc evenly across first side of top of instep, 1dc into each of the next 20dc, (work 10dc each side of the slip stitch seam) 4dc evenly across second side of top of instep. Turn. (28dc)


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn. Rpt last row 6 more times. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in colour 1, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * make 3ch, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, make 3ch, work 1dc into next dc, 2dc into last dc, working down first side of split, work 1dc into each row end to bottom of V, ss into V, 1dc into each row end up second side of split, ss to first dc. Fasten off.


With 5.00mm hook and top of bootie towards you, rejoin yarn with a ss to back seam, make 1ch, work one row of crab stitch, (see abbrev) into loose loops on sole of bootie, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Double Crochet Circle - Using colour 1 make a magic circle, with 4.00mm hook make 1ch, work 12dc into ring, pull loose yarn to close circle, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Finishing - Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, closing gaps in stitches were needed, fold down top, sew pearl button to centre of double crochet circle and attach to shoe.
