Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK in colours 1 & 2


OR

Small amounts of Light Worsted Weight #3 in colors 1 & 2

5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hook, 2 pearl buttons


GAUGE - 6hdc and 3 rows of hdc's measures approx 1” square

Commence with Sole - With 4.00mm hook and color 1, ch11 loosely, (RS) 3hdc in 4th ch from hook, 1hdc in each of next 6ch, 8hdc in last ch, working on opposite side of cast on ch, work 1hdc in each of next 6ch, 4hdc in last ch, sl st to top of the ch3 on beginning of row. DNT. (27hdc + ch2)


Round 2 - ch2, work 2hdc in each of next 3hdc, 1hdc in each of next 8hdc, 2hdc in each of next 6hdc, 1hdc in each of next 8hdc, 2hdc in each of last 2hdc, 1hdc in base of ch2, sl st to top of ch2. DNT. (39hdc + ch2)


Round 3 - ch2, skip first hdc, 1hdc in each hdc to end, 1hdc in base of ch2, sl st to top of ch2. Fasten off. DNT. (39hdc + ch2)


Next Round - Join in color 2, working in back loop of stitch only, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each hdc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn (40sc)


Next Round - Working through both loops ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn (40sc)


Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Instep

With WS facing and counting from where you fastened off, skip 10sc, rejoin yarn with a sl st to next sc, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next 19sc. Turn leaving 10sc un-worked. (20sc)


Row 2 - (Dec Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (9 times), 1sc in last sc. Turn. (11sc) (see abbrev for dec)


Row 3 - (Dec Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc (5 times). Turn. (6sc)


Row 4 - ch1, insert hook and pull up loop in each sc, yo and pull through all 7 loops on hook to close, ch1. Turn.


Top - ch1, work 4sc evenly across first side of top of instep, 1sc in each of the next 20sc, (work 10sc each side of the slip stitch seam) 4sc evenly across second side of top of instep. Turn. (28sc)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn. Rpt last row 6 more times. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in color 1, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, * ch3, 1sc in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, ch3, work 1sc in next sc, 2sc in last sc, working down first side of split, work 1sc in each row end to bottom of V, sl st in V, 1sc in each row end up second side of split, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


With 5.00mm hook and top of bootie towards you, rejoin yarn with a sl st to back seam, ch1, work one row of crab stitch, (see abbrev) in loose loops on sole of bootie, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Double Crochet Circle - Using color 1 make a magic circle, with 4.00mm hook ch1, work 12sc in ring, pull loose yarn to close circle, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Finishing - Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, closing gaps in stitches were needed, fold down top, sew pearl button to centre of double crochet circle and attach to shoe.
