5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

3 buttons


TENSION - 4tr and 2 rows of tr's measures approx 1 inch

COAT - Worked in one piece starting with Yoke. -

With main colour yarn and 4.00mm hook make 49ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end (46tr + 3ch). Turn.


Row 2 - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr,

* rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch, (57tr +3ch). Turn.


Row 3 - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Row 4 - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr

* rpt from * to * to last tr and 3ch to turn with, 2tr into tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (76tr +3ch)


Row 5 - Rpt Row 3. Turn.


Row 6 - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next 2tr *

rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3ch to turn with, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into last tr, 1tr into top of 3ch (101tr + 3ch). Turn.

Rpt the last row 7 more times, making 11 rows in all from yoke or until work

measures approx 8.5 inches from shoulder. Turn. Fasten off.


Next row - Join in contrast colour yarn and rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With main colour yarn, 4.00mm hook and WS facing, rejoin to side of tr at base of armhole, make 3ch, 5tr into same space as 3ch * miss 2tr, 1tr into next tr, miss 2tr, 5tr into next tr * rpt from * to * to last 5tr group, miss 2tr, 1tr into next tr, miss 2tr, 1tr into side of tr at base of armhole, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (5, 5tr groups)


Next Row - ss to first tr, 3ch, * 5tr into next tr, miss 2tr, 1tr into next tr, miss 2tr,

* rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row - 3ch, * 5tr into next tr, miss 2tr, 1tr into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from

* to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (5, 5tr groups).


Rpt Pattern Row until 7 rows have been worked in all from yoke or underarm sleeve seam measures 3 inches. Fasten off. Turn.


Cuff - Join in contrast colour yarn, with 4.00mm hook make 1ch, 1dc into base

of 1ch, * miss 1tr, 1dc into each of the next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (26dc)


Next row - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch , * dec 1dc over next 2dc, (see abbrev) 1dc into next 5dc * rpt from * to * 2 more times, until 3dc remain, dec

1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc. Turn. (21dc)


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Coat Edging - Using 4.00mm hook, start with RS facing, contrast colour yarn and at lower edge on right front, work 2dc in each row end up front edge to neck, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr around neck, 3dc into corner, work 2dc into each row end down left front edge. Turn.


Next row - (buttonholes) - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc up front edge to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc around neck to next corner, 1dc into corner, 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 5dc, (twice), 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into

each dc to end. Turn.


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to neck edge. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose threads, turn through to right side.


Hat - With 5.00mm hook and main colour yarn make 57ch loosely, ss to first ch

to form a ring, change to 4.00mm hook and making sure you do not twist chain length as you go, work 3ch, * 5tr into next ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next ch, miss 1ch,

* rpt from * to * to last ch, miss last ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (14, 5tr groups)


Pattern Row - 3ch, * 5tr into next tr, miss 2tr, 1tr into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from

* to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Row until 9 rows have been worked in all from beginning or work measures approx 4 inches. Fasten off.


Return to cast on edge, using 4.00mm hook with WS facing, rejoin contrast colour yarn, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of the cast on ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (57dc) Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Finishing - With WS facing centre back seam and using 5.00mm hook slip stitch top seam together to close, sew in tie off any loose threads of yarn, turn through

to right side.


Pom-Poms x 2 - Make 2 small pom-poms, I used Clover Pom-Pom maker in a mixture of the main and contrast colours and attach one to each of the corners of hat.
