5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

3 Buttons


GAUGE - 4dc and 2 rows of dc's measures approx 1 inch

COAT - Worked in one piece starting with Yoke. -

With main color yarn and 4.00mm hook ch49, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc

in each ch to end (46dc + ch3) Turn.


Row 2 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 3dc,

* rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3, (57dc +ch3). Turn.


Row 3 - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Row 4 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc

* rpt from * to * to last dc and ch3 to turn with, 2dc in dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (76dc +ch3)


Row 5 - Rpt Row 3. Turn.


Row 6 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 2dc * rpt

from * to * to last 2dc and ch3 to turn with, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in last dc, 1dc in

top of ch3 (101dc + ch3). Turn.


Commence Skirt - ch3, * skip 1dc, 5dc in next dc, skip 1dc, 1dc in next dc * rpt from * to * to last 4dc and ch3, skip 1dc,  5dc in next dc, skip 1dc, 1dc in next dc,  1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (25, 5dc groups)


Next row - (Divide for armholes) ch3, * 5dc in next dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * 2 times, skip 2dc, 3dc in next dc, skip 5, 5dc groups,

Rpt the last row 7 more times, making 11 rows in all from yoke or until work

measures approx 8.5 inches from shoulder. Turn. Fasten off.


Next row - Join in contrast color yarn and rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With main color yarn, 4.00mm hook and WS facing, rejoin to side

of dc at base of armhole, ch3, 5dc in same space as ch3 * skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip 2dc, 5dc in next dc * rpt from * to * to last 5dc group, skip 2dc, 1dc in

next dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in side of dc at base of armhole, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (5, 5dc groups)


Next Row - sl st to first dc, ch3, * 5dc in next dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Pattern Row - ch3, * 5dc in next dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt

from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (5, 5dc groups)


Rpt Pattern Row until 7 rows have been worked in all from yoke or underarm sleeve seam measures 3 inches. Fasten off. Turn.


Cuff - Join in contrast color yarn, with 4.00mm hook ch1, 1sc in base of ch1,

* skip 1dc, 1sc in each of the next 5dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (26sc)


Next row - (Dec Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1 , * dec 1sc over next 2sc, (see abbrev) 1sc in next 5sc * rpt from * to * 2 more times, until 3sc remain, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (21sc).


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Coat Edging - Using 4.00mm hook, start with RS facing, contrast color yarn and at lower edge on right front, work 2sc in each row end up front edge to neck, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each dc around neck, 3sc in corner, work 2sc in each row end down left front edge. Turn.


Next row - (buttonholes) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc up front edge to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc around neck to next corner, 1sc in corner, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 5sc, (twice), ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to neck edge. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose threads, turn through to right side.


Hat - With 5.00mm hook and main color yarn ch57 loosely, sl st to first ch to form a ring, change to 4.00mm hook and making sure you do not twist chain length as you go, work ch3, * 5dc in next ch, skip 1ch, 1dc in next ch, skip 1ch, * rpt from

* to * to last ch, skip last ch, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.

(14, 5dc groups)


Pattern Row - ch3, * 5dc in next dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt

from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Row until 9 rows have been worked in all from beginning or work measures approx 4 inches. Fasten off.


Return to cast on edge, using 4.00mm hook with WS facing, rejoin contrast color yarn, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of the cast on ch to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (57sc) Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Finishing - With WS facing centre back seam and using 5.00mm hook slip stitch top seam together to close, sew in tie off any loose threads of yarn, turn through to right side.


Pom-Poms x 2 - Make 2 small pom-poms, I used Clover Pom-Pom maker  in a mixture of the main and contrast colors and attach one to each of the corners of hat.
