Using 5.00mm hook slip stitch shoulder seams together or over sew with needle and yarn.
Right and Left Front Bands
With RS facing, color 1, 4.00mm hook, working in row ends and starting at lower edge of right hand front ch1, work 42sc evenly along first front edge to neck, 3sc in corner, 16sc evenly along first neck edge to shoulder, 1sc in each of next 28sc across back, 16sc evenly along second neck edge, 3sc in corner, work 42sc evenly along in row ends down second front edge. Turn.
2nd Row -
3rd Row -
Return to opposite side and with WS facing working from neck downwards rejoin color 1 to centre sc of 3sc, work 2nd and 3rd rows same as for first front border. Fasten off. (43dc +ch3)
Hood -
Rpt Pattern Row until 24 rows have been worked in all from beginning or work measures approx 5 inches. Fasten off.
Join in color 2, rpt Pattern Row three times. Turn. Fasten off. Join in color 1 and rpt Pattern Row twice. Fasten off.
Finishing -
Working on wrong side of jacket, fold sleeves in half lengthways, place centre to shoulder seams and slip stitch or over sew in position, slip stitch or over sew side and sleeve seams together.
With WS facing and skipping front bands from both sides of the fronts, attach hood to jacket by slip stitching or over sewing through each of the 60sc on neck edge of jacket and each of the 60sc on neck edge of hood. Fasten off.
Weave in loose ends of yarn, turn through to RS, attach buttons evenly down button band and use gaps between dc's for buttonholes.
