Dec 1dc. Pull up a loop from each of the next 2dc,
yrh and pull through 3 loops.
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
Size to fit approx: 6-12 month Baby
Materials
Small amount of King Cole big value baby DK in colours 1 & 2
4.00mm crochet hook, 2 small buttons
TENSION - 5htr and 3 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Sole - With colour 1 make 13ch, 3tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into next 8ch, 6tr
into last ch, working on opposite side of cast on ch, work 1tr into next 8ch, 3tr
into last ch, ss to first tr on beginning of row. (28tr). DNT.
Row 2 - 3ch, work 2tr into each of next 3tr, 1tr into next 8tr, 2tr into each of
next 6tr, 1tr into next 8tr, 2tr into each of last 3tr, ss to first tr on beginning
of row. (40tr). DNT.
Row 3 - Working into back loops of stitch only, make 1ch, 1htr into each tr to end,
ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT. (40htr)
Row 4 - Working through both loops from now on, work 1ch, 1htr into each htr to end,
ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT.
Row 5 - Rpt Row 4. Fasten off. Turn at the end of Row 5.
Instep
With WS facing and counting from where you fastened off, miss 10htr, rejoin yarn
with a ss to next htr, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next 19dc. Turn leaving
10htr un-worked. (20dc)
Next Row - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, (see abbrev)
9 times, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (11dc)
Next Row - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc in base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 5 times. Turn.
(6dc)
Next Row - Make 1ch, pull up a loop from each of next 6dc, yrh and pull through all
7 loops on hook to close, work 1ch. Fasten off.
Top - With RS facing, toe towards you, join colour 1 to top of instep, work 8dc evenly
along top of instep. Turn.
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 4 more rows of 1dc into each dc to
end. (8dc). Fasten off.
Front Strap x 2 - With colour 2, make 10ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each
ch to end, make 4ch, (this will be button loop) working along opposite side of cast
ch, work 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off leaving a length of
yarn to sew with.
Finishing - Attach straps putting button loop to the outside of each loafer, sew
in and tie off loose ends of yarn, attach a button to each loafer and fasten through
button loop.
