30 grams of King Cole candy stripe DK (431)

OR

1oz of Variegated Light Worsted Weight #3 Yarn

4.50mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

GAUGE – 5sc and 5 rows of sc measures approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

With 4.50mm Hook ch25 loosely, sl st to first ch to make a ring (WS) ch3, 1dc in each ch to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning row. Turn. (24dc + ch3)

Next Row - ch3, * 1dcf in next dc, 1dcb in next dc, * rpt from * to * to end,

sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (see abbrev for dcf & dcb)

Rpt last row 3 more times, making 5 rows in all. Turn. Fasten off.

Instep - Change to 4.00mm hook. Skip 8dc, rejoin yarn to 9th dc with a sl st,

ch1, 1sc in base of ch, 1sc in each of next 8sc. Turn. (9sc)

Next row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 8sc. Turn.

Rpt last row 6 more times until 8 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off.

Shape Sole - Using 4.00mm hook. With RS facing return to back seam where you casted off at ankle (------------- see picture below) follow direction of arrows.

Rejoin yarn to first sc, ch1, work 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 7sc along first half of ankle, 8sc evenly along row ends up first side of instep, working along toe edge work 1sc in each of next 4sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 4sc, 8sc evenly along row ends down second side of instep, 1sc in each of next 8sc along second half of ankle, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (40sc)

Row 2 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Row 3 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (see abbrev) 1sc in each of the next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (36sc)

Row 5 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 13sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 13sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (32sc)

Row 7 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 11sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 11sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (28sc)

Row 8 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 9sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 9sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (24sc)

Row 9 (Dec Row) - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 7sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in next 7sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (20sc)

ch1, with WS of bootie facing, sl st through both sides of sc to close open gap on sole of bootie.

Finishing - Weave in all ends. Turn through to RS.

Motif x 2 - Make magic circle, using 4.00mm hook work ch1, 12sc in circle, close circle with loose thread of yarn, sl st to first sc. DNT.

Next Row - ch1, (sc, ch3, sc) in base of ch1, * skip 1sc, (sc, ch3, sc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, skip last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (6 Petals)

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, attach decorative button or ribbon rosebud to centre of motif and sew one motif to each boot.
