80 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Color 1

20 grams of James C Brett baby marble DK in Color 2


OR

3oz of Light Worsted Weight #3 in color 1

1oz of Variegated Light Worsted Weight #3 in color 2

4.00mm crochet hook, 2 buttons (optional)


GAUGE - 4.5dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in one piece starting with yoke.


With 4.00mm hook and color 1 ch37, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 3ch, (Front) 1vst (see abbrev) in next ch, 1dc in each of next 5ch, (shoulder) 1vst in next ch, 1dc in each of next 11ch, (Back) 1vst in next ch, 1dc in each of next 5ch, (shoulder) 1vst in next ch, 1dc in each of next 5ch, (Front). Turn. (38dc, 4, ch2 spaces + ch3)

 

2nd Row - (Inc Row) ch3, * 1dc in each dc to next ch2 space, 1vst in ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, 1vst in ch2 space, 1dc in each dc to ch3 to turn with, work 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (46dc, 4, ch2 spaces + ch3)

 

3rd to 8th - rpt 2nd Row. Turn. (94dc, 4, ch2 spaces + ch3)

 

9th Row - (Divide for Armholes) ch3, 1dc in each dc to first ch2 space, 2dc in ch2 space, skip next 21dc, 2dc in next ch2 space, 1dc in each dc to next ch2 space, 2dc in ch2 space, skip next 21dc, 2dc in next ch2 space, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (60dc + ch3)


10th Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end. Turn.


11th Row - Working in back loop of stitch only ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. Turn.


Rpt 10th & 11th Rows 4 more times, work should now measure approx 7.5 Inches from beginning. Turn.


Bottom & Front Bands - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to ch3 to turn with, 3sc in top of ch3, working along first front edge work 31sc evenly in row ends to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in ch around neck, 3sc in corner, work 31sc evenly in row ends to corner, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc. Turn.


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc around all sides of coat to end, working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc on beginning on row. Fasten off.


Chain Loops Row - Join color 2 to loose loops of sc on row 16, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch5, skip 1sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Fasten off.

Rpt last row along row 18. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With RS facing join color 1 to side of dc underarm, ch3, 1dc in same space, 1dc in each of next 21dc, 2dc in side of dc on opposite side of sleeve, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (24dc + ch3)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - Working in back loop of stitch only ch3, 1dc in each sc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last two rows three more times. Turn.


Cuff - (Dec Row) ch1, * dec 1sc over next 2sc (see abbrev) 1sc in each of next 4sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, skip sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (20sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Using color 2 rpt Chain Loops Row in loose loops of sc rows on rows 14 and 16 above the cuffs in the same way as coat, sl st to first sc on each row. Fasten off.


Finishing - Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim. Attach 2 buttons evenly on yoke and use gaps in stitches as buttonholes or you can use ribbon as ties if preferred.


Hat - With color 1, ch6 and join with a sl st to form a ring, ch3, 13dc in ring, join with sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 2 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc + ch3).


Row 3 - ch3, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 2dc in dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (41dc + ch3).


Row 4 - ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 2dc in dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (55dc + ch3)


Row 5 - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 6 - ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 7 - Working in back loop of stitch only ch3, 1dc in each sc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Rows 6 & 7 Twice. Turn.


Row 12 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Using color 2 rpt Chain Loops Row on rows 8 and 10 in the same way as the cuffs on the coat, sl st to first sc on the end of each row. Fasten off.


Finishing - Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim.
