1 mtr of 6mm wide ribbon
TENSION - 5htr and 4 rows of htr measures approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

Cardigan - Worked in one piece starting with Yoke.
With 4.00mm hook and main colour, make 38ch, 1htr into 3rd ch from hook, 1htr into
each ch to end (36htr + 2ch) Turn.
Row 2 - 2ch, 1htr into next 5htr, (front) 3htr into next htr, 1htr into next 5htr,
(shoulder) 3htr into next htr, 1htr into next 11htr, (back) 3htr into next htr, 1htr
into next 5htr, (shoulder) 3htr into next htr, 1htr into next 5htr, 1htr into top
of 2ch. (front). Turn. (44htr + 2ch)
Row 3 to 8 - 2ch, * 1htr into each htr to 3htr group, 1htr into next htr, 3htr into
next htr, * rpt from * to * 3 more times, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top
of 2ch. (92htr + 2ch)
Row 9 (Shape Armholes) - 2ch, 1htr into each of next 13htr, 1ch, miss 19htr, 1htr
into each of next 27htr, 1ch, miss 19htr, 1htr into each of next 13htr, 1htr into
top of 2ch. Turn. (54htr, 2, 1ch spaces + 2ch to turn)
Row 10 - 2ch, 1htr into each of next 13htr, 1htr into 1ch space, 1htr into each of
next 27htr, 1htr into 1ch space, 1htr into each of next 13htr, 1htr into top of 2ch.
Turn. (56htr + 2ch)
Commence Skirt - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1htr, 5tr into next htr, miss
1htr, 1dc into next htr, * rpt from * to * to last 3htr and 2ch, miss 1htr, 5tr into
next htr, miss 1htr, 1dc into top of 2ch. Turn. (14, 5tr groups + 3ch).
Next Row - 3ch, * 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, 1tr into dc, * rpt from * to *
to end. Turn.
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, 1dc into
next single tr, * rpt from * to * last 5tr group and 3ch to turn, 5tr into centre
tr of 5tr group, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.
The last 2 rows form the pattern, rpt both rows three more until 9, 5tr group rows
have been worked or work measures approx 7.5 Inches in all from shoulder. DNT.
Work 2 more dc into top of the 3ch to turn with, making 3dc for a corner.
Front Bands - Work 21 dc’s evenly up first front edge of cardigan, 3dc into corner,
1dc into each htr around neck, 3dc into corner, work 21 dc’s evenly down second front
edge to end. Turn. Fasten off.
Next Row - Join in contrast colour to first dc, make 1ch, work 2dc into base of 1ch,
1dc into each dc up first front edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc around neck,
3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc down second front edge, 3dc into corner, working
along bottom of coat work, ss into next dc, * 1htr into each of next 5tr, ss into
next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc. Fasten off.
Sleeves x 2 - With RS facing and 4.00mm hook, rejoin main colour yarn to centre htr
of 3htr group under arm, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1htr, 5tr into next htr,
miss 1htr 1dc into next htr * rpt from * to * around armhole to end, working last
dc into centre htr of 3htr group under arm, ss to first dc. Turn. (5, 5tr groups)
Row 2 - 3ch, * 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, 1tr into dc, * rpt from * to * to
last 5tr group, 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.
Row 3 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, 1dc into next
single tr, * rpt from * to * last 5tr group, 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, ss
to dc at beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt Rows 2 & 3 twice, making 7, 5tr group rows worked in all. Fasten off.
Next Row - Join in contrast colour to first dc with a ss, * 1htr into each of next
5htr, ss into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first ss on beginning of row.
Fasten off.
Finishing - Close small gap under arms, weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim,
attach a small amount of ribbon at neck to tie in a bow.
Pants - With 5.00mm hook make 56ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, change to 4.00mm
hook, 2ch, 1htr into each ch to end, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. (55htr
+ 2ch)
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1htr, 5tr into next htr, miss 1htr,
1dc into next htr, * rpt from * to * to last 3htr, miss 1htr, 5tr into next htr,
miss 1htr, ss to dc on beginning of row. Turn. (14, 5tr groups).
Next Row - 3ch, * 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, 1tr into dc, * rpt from * to *
to last 5tr group, 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, ss to top of 3ch on beginning
of row. Turn.
Next Row - Rpt Row 3 from sleeves. Turn.
Rpt Rows 2 & 3 from sleeves on coat three more times until 9, 5tr group rows have
been worked or work measures approx 4.5 inches from beginning. Turn. Place coloured
marker to ss.
Divide for legs
First Leg - 3ch, * 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, 1tr into dc, * rpt from * to
* 6 more times, place coloured marker to dc were you worked last tr, ss to top of
3ch on beginning of row, turn leaving remaining 7 groups un-worked (we will come
back too these).
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into next tr, * 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, 1dc into next
single tr, * rpt from * to * last 5tr group, 5tr into centre tr of 5tr group, ss
to dc at beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt Rows 2 & 3 from sleeves four more times until 19, 5tr group rows have been worked
from waist or work measures approx 8.5 inches in all. Turn. Fasten off.
Next Row - Join in contrast colour to first dc with a ss, * 1htr into each of next
5tr, ss into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first ss on beginning of row.
Fasten off.
Second Leg - Return to un-worked stitches at division, with WS facing re-join main
colour yarn to same dc at centre were your second colour marker was placed, work
Row 2 from sleeves across the 7, 5tr groups same as you did for first leg, finishing
the row with 1tr in same dc as first colour marker, continue the rest of the leg
same as first. Fasten off.
With WS facing and using contrast colour yarn, work 1dc into each of the cast on
chain around waist, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (56dc)
Finishing - Remove colour markers, close small gap at crotch, weave in ends and trim,
thread remaining ribbon through alternate stitches on waist and tie in a bow.
