Coat - Worked in one piece starting with yoke.


Make 49ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (46tr + 3ch)


Row 2 - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (57tr +3ch)


Row 3 - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Row 4 - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3ch, 2tr into tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (76tr +3ch)


Row 5 - As Row 3.

Rpt Pattern Row until 11 rows in all have been worked from yoke or coat measures approx 8 inches from shoulder. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With WS facing, rejoin yarn to first single tr at base of armhole, (where you divided), 3ch, * 1ps group into 1ch space of next ps group, 1tr into next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to last ps group, 1ps group into 1ch space of next ps group, 2tr into next tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row on the opposite side of sleeve. Turn (5ps groups)


Next Row - Make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 1ps group into 1ch space of ps group, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to last ps group, work 1ps group into 1ch space of ps group, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - Make 3ch, * 1ps group into 1ch space of ps group, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to last ps group and 2tr, work 1ps group into 1ch space of ps group, 1tr into each of next 2tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last 2 rows until 7 rows in all have been worked from yoke, or sleeve seam measures approx 3 inches. Turn.


Cuff - With WS facing  work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 2tr, * miss 1ps, 1dc into 1ch space of ps group, miss 1ps, 1dc into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to last ps group, 1dc into 1ch space of ps group, ss to first dc. Turn. (20dc)


Next row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row.


Rpt last row twice. Fasten off.


Front Edging - With RS facing and starting at lower edge on right hand side of coat, work 2dc into each row end up right front, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each stitch around neck to next corner, 3dc into corner, 2dc into each row end down left front of coat, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr, ps and 1ch space along the bottom of coat, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.


Buttonhole Row - Work 1dc into each dc along bottom of coat to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc up left front to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc around neck to next corner, 1dc into corner, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 5dc, * rpt from * to * once, 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into remaining dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (3 buttonholes made)


Work 1 more row of 1dc into each dc and 2ch space all around coat to end, working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Finishing - Weave in and trim any loose ends of yarn.


Bonnet - Make 6ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, 3ch, work 11tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.


2nd Row - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr in each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (23tr + 3ch)


3rd Row - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (35tr + 3ch)


4th Row - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (47tr + 3ch)

Rpt last 7th Row until 6 ps rows have been worked. Turn.


Edging - With RS facing work 1dc into each tr, ps and 1ch space along front of bonnet, 3dc into top of 3ch, 2dc into each row end along and around neck edge, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Work one more row of 1dc into each dc to end, working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Back Frill - With front of bonnet towards you, rejoin yarn into loose loops by neck opening (made by working into back loops on 6th Row) make 3ch, miss 1tr, * 1ps group into next tr, miss 1tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr, miss 1tr, work 1tr, into last tr. Turn. (25ps groups). Fasten off.


Finishing - Weave in and trim any loose ends of yarn, thread ribbon through gaps in pattern around neck edge.
