GAUGE - 1.5 shell groups and 2 rows measure approx 1 Inch

COAT - Worked in one piece starting with yoke.


ch49, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end (46dc + ch3). Turn.


Row 2 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 3dc,

* rpt from * to * to ch3 to turn with, 1dc in top of ch3, (57dc + ch3). Turn.


Row 3 - ch3, 1dc in each dc to end. Turn.


Row 4 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc

* rpt from * to * to last dc and ch3 to turn with, 2dc in dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (76dc + ch3)


Row 5 - Rpt Row 3.

 

Row 6 - (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc

* rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3 to turn with, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in last dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. Fasten off. (101dc + ch3).


Commence Skirt - With color 2 ch3, skip first dc, * 1 shell (see abbrev) in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3 to turn with, skip 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (33 Shells)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 1 shell in next shell, 1sc in the space between shells, * rpt from * to * to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Turn. Fasten off.


Next Row - (Divide for armholes), Join in color 1, ch3, 1 shell in each of the next 5 shells, skip 6 shells, 1 shell in each of next 11 shells, skip next 6 shells, 1 shell in each of next 5 shells, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (21 shells)


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 1 shell in next shell, 1sc in the space between shells, * rpt from * to * to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Turn. Fasten off.


Join in color 2.


Row One - ch3, 1 shell in each shell to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.


Row Two - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 1 shell in next shell, 1sc in the space between shells, * rpt from * to * to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.


Fasten off.


Rpt Rows One & Two (alternating colors after each repeat) until work measures approx 9.5 Inches from shoulder, ending on color 2. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With RS facing, rejoin color 1 to sc before first shell, ch3, work 1 shell in each of next 6 shells to opposite side of armhole, 1dc in next sc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (6 shells).


We will close gaps under armholes later.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 1 shell in next shell, 1sc in the space between shells, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.


Fasten off.


Starting with color 2 rpt Pattern Rows One & Two 3 times, (alternating colors after each repeat), sl st and turn at the end of each row (sleeve seam should measure approx 4 Inches) ending on color 2. Turn. Fasten off.


Cuff - Join in color 1, ch2, * 1sc in each of next 2dc, skip ch1 space, 1sc in each of next 2dc, 1hdc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last shell, 1sc in each of next 2dc, skip ch1 space, 1sc in each of next 2dc, sl st to top of ch2. Turn. (29 stitches)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1 row of 1sc in each st to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.


Next row - (Dec Row) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc * dec 1sc (see abbrev) over next 2sc, 1sc in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn. (22sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1 row of 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Button/Buttonhole Bands - Starting with RS facing, rejoin color 1 at lower edge on right front, work 33sc evenly along first front edge to corner, 3sc in corner, work 1sc in each dc around neck edge to next corner, 3sc in corner, 33sc evenly along second front edge to corner, 3sc in corner, working along bottom edge work * 1sc in each of next 2dc, skip ch1 space, 1sc in each of next 2dc, 1hdc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last shell, 1sc in each of next 2dc, skip ch1 space, 1sc in each of next 2dc, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each stitch along bottom of coat, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc up front edge to corner, 1sc in corner. Turn.


Starting with ch1 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc along bottom of coat to next corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 21sc, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 5sc, * rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn.


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1 row of 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to corner, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Chain Tie - With Color 2  ch131, sl st in 2nd ch, 1sl st in each ch to end. Fasten off. (Optional)


Finishing - Close gaps under arms with needle and yarn, weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes. thread chain tie through alternate dc's on yoke and tie in a bow.
