100 grams of James C Brett Baby Marble DK

4.50mm crochet hook

6 medium buttons


TENSION - 4tr and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Jumpsuit (worked in one piece, starting with yoke).

Using 4.50mm hook make 55ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into the next 6ch’s (Back), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into next 8ch’s (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 17ch’s (Front), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch’s. (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch’s (Back). Turn. (60tr + 3ch)


2nd Row - (Inc Row) 3ch, * 1tr into each tr to next 3tr group, 1tr into next tr, 3tr into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to 3ch to turn with, work 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (68tr + 3ch)

 

3rd to 6th Row - rpt 2nd Row. Turn. (100tr + 3ch)

 

7th Row - (Increase & Divide for Armholes) - Make 3ch, 1tr in next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr,* rpt from * to * to centre tr of the first 3tr group, 2tr into centre tr, miss next 20tr, 1tr into centre tr of next 3tr group, rpt from * to * to centre tr of next 3tr group, miss next 20tr, rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch, Turn. (89tr + 3ch)


Commence Body - 3ch, miss 1tr, * shell into next tr, miss 2tr, vst into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 5tr and 3ch, miss 2tr, shell into next tr, miss 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (see abbrev for instructions on vst and shell)


Pattern Row - 3ch, * work 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, 1 vst into 1ch space on next vst, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (15 shells, 14 vst, 1tr + 3ch)


Rpt Pattern Row until 12 rows have been worked in all from yoke. Turn.


Divide for Legs


First Leg - Make 3ch, * work 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, 1 vst into 1ch space on next vst, * rpt from * to * 6 more times, 1tr into 1ch space of next shell, leaving remaining stitches un-worked ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (7 shells, 7vst, 1tr + 3ch)


Row 2 - 3ch, * work 1 vst into 1ch space of next vst, 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 3 - 3ch, * work 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, 1 vst into 1ch space on next vst, * rpt from * to * to last vst, work (1tr, 1ch) into 1ch space on vst, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 4 - ss to first 1ch space, work (3ch, 1tr) into same space, 2tr into each 1ch space to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (27tr + 3ch)


Row 5 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (28dc)


Second Leg - Return to un-worked stitches at division and rejoin yarn to same shell group were you worked 1tr into on first leg, make 3ch, * work 1 vst into 1ch space of next vst, 1 shell into 1ch space on next shell, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of this row. Turn. (7 shells, 7vst, 1tr + 3ch)


Row 2 - 3ch, * work 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, 1 vst into 1ch space of next vst, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 3 - 3ch, * work 1 vst into 1ch space of next vst, 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Rows 4 and 5 from first leg. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - join yarn to side of tr under arm, make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 20tr, 1tr into side of tr on opposite side of sleeve, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.  (21tr + 3ch)


Button/Buttonhole Bands - (Instructions given for girl, swap sides for boy)

With RS facing rejoin yarn to right hand side of back edge, (top of leg) make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 39 more dc evenly into row ends to neck edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch around neck, 3dc into corner, 40dc evenly into row ends down second back edge. Turn.


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to corner, 1dc into corner. Fasten off. (41dc)


Buttonhole Row - Return to first back edge and starting from corner and working from neck downwards, with WS facing work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 6dc, * rpt from * to * 4 more times, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of the remaining dc. Fasten off. (6 buttonholes made)


Collar


First Side - With WS facing join yarn to 1st dc on neck edge, (after button band), 3ch, * miss 1dc, 1 vst into next dc, miss 1dc, 1 shell into next dc, * rpt from

* to * 4 more times, miss 1dc, 1vst into next dc, miss 1dc, 1tr into next dc, turn leaving remaining stitches un-worked.


2nd & 3rd Rows - Make 3ch, work 1 vst into 1ch space of next vst, 1 shell into 1ch space on next shell, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch on beginning

of row. Fasten off. (5 shells, 6 vst, 1tr + 3ch)


Return to un-worked stitches on neck edge, miss 4dc, join yarn to next dc, follow instructions from 3ch onwards from first side of collar. Fasten off.


Chain Tie x 2 - Make 80ch. Fasten off.


Pom-Pom x 2 -

Make 2 small pom-poms I used the Clover Pom-Pom maker size 25


Finishing - Close small gap under arms, weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, attach buttons to back edge to correspond with buttonholes.  Working through alternate tr's underarms, thread chain tie from back edge, (secure to inside) along to the centre on the front of the jump suit, rpt for second tie on opposite side, tie in a bow on the front and attach a pom-pom to each end. If collar is curling, tack down ends.
