OR

GAUGE - 4dc and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Jumpsuit (worked in one piece, starting with yoke).

Using 4.50mm hook ch55, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in the next 6ch’s (Back), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in next 8ch’s (shoulder), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 17ch’s (Front), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch’s. (shoulder), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch’s (Back). Turn. (60dc + ch3)


2nd Row - (Inc Row) ch3, * 1dc in each dc to next 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre dc of 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to ch3 to turn with, work 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (68dc + ch3)

 

3rd to 6th Row - rpt 2nd Row. Turn. (100dc + ch3)

 

7th Row - (Increase & Divide for Armholes) - ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc,* rpt from * to * to centre dc of the first 3dc group, 2dc in centre dc, skip next 20dc, 1dc in centre dc of next 3dc group, rpt from * to * to centre dc of next 3dc group, skip next 20dc, rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3, Turn. (89dc + ch3)


Commence Body - ch3, skip 1dc, * shell in next dc, skip 2dc, vst in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc and ch3, skip 2dc, shell in next dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (see abbrev for instructions on vst and shell)


Pattern Row - ch3, * work 1 shell in ch1 space of next shell, 1 vst in ch1 space on next vst, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (15 shells, 14 vst, 1dc + ch3)


Rpt Pattern Row until 12 rows have been worked in all from yoke. Turn.


Divide for Legs


First Leg - ch3, * work 1 shell in ch1 space of next shell, 1 vst in ch1 space on next vst, * rpt from * to * 6 more times, 1dc in ch1 space of next shell, leaving remaining stitches un-worked sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.

(7 shells, 7vst, 1dc + ch3)


Row 2 - ch3, * work 1 vst in ch1 space of next vst, 1 shell in ch1 space of next shell, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 3 - ch3, * work 1 shell in ch1 space of next shell, 1 vst in ch1 space on next vst, * rpt from * to * to last vst, work (1dc, ch1) in ch1 space on vst, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 4 - sl st to first ch1 space, (ch3, 1dc) in same space, 2dc in each ch1 space to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc + ch3)


Row 5 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (28sc)


Second Leg - Return to un-worked stitches at division and rejoin yarn to same shell group were you worked 1dc in on first leg, ch3, * work 1 vst in ch1 space of next vst, 1 shell in ch1 space on next shell, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of this row. Turn. (7 shells, 7vst, 1dc + ch3)


Row 2 - ch3, * work 1 shell in ch1 space of next shell, 1 vst in ch1 space of next vst, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Row 3 - ch3, * work 1 vst in ch1 space of next vst, 1 shell in ch1 space of next shell, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt Rows 4 and 5 from first leg. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - join yarn to side of dc under arm, ch3, 1dc in each of next 20dc, 1dc in side of dc on opposite side of sleeve, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off.  (21dc + ch3)


Button/Buttonhole Bands - (Instructions given for girl, swap sides for boy)

With RS facing rejoin yarn to right hand side of back edge, (top of leg) ch1, 1sc

in base of ch1, work 39 more sc evenly in row ends to neck edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around neck, 3sc in corner, 40sc evenly in row ends down second back edge. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 1sc in corner. Fasten off. (41sc)


Buttonhole Row - Return to first back edge and starting from corner and working from neck downwards, with WS facing ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 6sc, * rpt from * to * 4 more times, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of the remaining sc. Fasten off. (6 buttonholes made)


Collar


First Side - With WS facing join yarn to 1st sc on neck edge, (after button band), ch3, * skip 1sc, 1 vst in next sc, skip 1sc, 1 shell in next sc, * rpt from * to * 4 more times, skip 1sc, 1vst in next sc, skip 1sc, 1dc in next sc, turn leaving remaining stitches un-worked.


2nd & 3rd Rows - ch3, work 1 vst in ch1 space of next vst, 1 shell in ch1 space on next shell, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. (5 shells, 6 vst, 1dc + ch3)


Return to un-worked stitches on neck edge, skip 4sc, join yarn to next sc, follow instructions from ch3 onwards from first side of collar. Fasten off.


Chain Tie x 2 - ch80. Fasten off.


Pom-Pom x 2 -

Make 2 small pom-poms I used the Clover Pom-Pom maker size 25


Finishing - Close small gap under arms, weave in and trim off any loose ends

of yarn, attach buttons to back edge to correspond with buttonholes.  Working through alternate dc's underarms, thread chain tie from back edge, (secure to inside) along to the centre on the front of the jump suit, rpt for second tie on opposite side, tie in a bow on the front and attach a pom-pom to each end. If collar is curling, tack down ends.
