Abbreviations

WS.     Wrong Side

ch.      Chain

sc.      Single Crochet

dc.      Double Crochet

rpt.     Repeat

sl st.   Slip Stitch

pc.    Popcorn

Work 5dc in next dc,

drop the loop from your hook,

insert hook from front to back

through top of first dc,

pick up dropped loop from 5th dc

and pull through.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch3 counts as first dc

Size to Fit approx:  6-12 Months

Materials

Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK in colors 1 & 2

(use up those oddments of yarn)

OR

Small amounts of Light Worsted Weight #3 in colors 1 & 2

5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - N/A

Headband - With color 1 and 5.00mm hook ch60, sl st to first ch to form a ring, change to 4.00mm hook, (WS) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (60sc)

With WS facing turn your work so you are working along the opposite side of the starting ch, (you may have to do a sl st between rows) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (60sc)

Flower - Using color 1, make a magic circle, with 4.00mm hook (WS) ch1, 16sc in circle, pull loose yarn to close, join with sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Fasten off. Turn. (16sc)

Row 2 - Join in color 2 with a sl st to first sc, ch3, work 4dc in base of ch3, drop loop, insert hook from front to back through top of ch3 you just made, pick up dropped loop from 4th dc and pull through, * ch3, skip 1sc, 1pc in next dc, (see abbrev) * rpt from * to * to last sc, ch3, skip sc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (8pc)

Row 3 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 4sc in ch3 space, 1sc in top of pc, * rpt from * to * to last ch3 space, 4sc in space, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (40sc)

Row 4 - Join in color 1, work * (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in next sc, skip 1sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row.  Fasten off.
