TENSION - 4tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Jacket - Worked in one piece starting with yoke.


Using colour 1, make 55ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr in each ch to end. Turn. (52tr + 3ch)


Row 2 - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of the next 4tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr and 3ch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of last 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. Turn. (62tr + 3ch)


Join in colour 2.


Row 3 - 3ch, 1tr in each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Fasten off. Join in colour 1.


Row 4 - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of the next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr and 3ch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of last 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (77tr + 3ch)


Row 5 - as Row 3.


Row  6 - (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of the next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. Turn. (102tr + 3ch)


Join in colour 2.

Fasten off. Join in colour 1

Join in colour 2, work Rows 6 and 7 once. Fasten off.


Join in colour 1, work Rows 6 and 7 once. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With RS facing join colour 1 to same dc under arm were you divided for armholes, work 4ch, * (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of 3, make 1ch, 1tr into next dc, 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ps group and dc, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of 3, make 1ch, miss 1dc, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn. (you will have a hole under arm and will close it in the finishing)


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 1ch, * 3ps into next 2ch space, 1dc into next tr, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space, 3ps into next 2ch space, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (7, 3ps groups)


Next Row - 4ch, * (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of 3, make 1ch, 1tr into next dc, 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ps group, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of 3, make 1ch, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 1ch, * 3ps into next 2ch space, 1dc into next tr, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space, 3ps into next 2ch space, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt last 2 rows until 7 ps rows have been worked from yoke or under seam measures approx 4 inches. Fasten off.


Work last 2 rows once in colour 2 and once in colour 1. Fasten off.


Button/Buttonhole Bands


Button Band - With RS facing join colour 1 to left front at neck edge, make 1ch, work 45dc evenly along into row ends to corner. Turn.


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch and turning at the end of each row, work 2 more rows in dc on these stitches. Fasten off.


Buttonhole Band - With RS facing join colour 1 to lower front edge on right hand side, make 1ch, work 45dc evenly into row ends to neck edge. Turn.


Next Row - (Buttonholes) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 7dc, * rpt from * to * once, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each dc to corner. Turn.


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Fasten off.


Hood - Make 58ch loosely, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (57dc)


Second Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 1ch, * miss 1dc, 3ps into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc, miss 1dc, 3ps into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (14, 3ps groups)


Third Row - 4ch, * (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of 3, make 1ch, 1tr into next dc, 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ps group and dc, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of 3, make 1ch, 1tr into last dc. Turn.


Fourth Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 1ch, * 3ps into next 2ch space, 1dc into next tr, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space and 4ch, 3ps into 2ch space, 1dc into 3rd of 4ch. Turn.


Rpt Third and Fourth row until 6 ps rows have been worked or work measures approx 4.5 inches. Fasten off.


Work Third and Fourth row once in colour 2 and once in colour 1. Fasten off.


Finishing - Fold hood in half length ways and ss cast on edge together loosely. Fasten off.


With WS facing and missing button/buttonhole bands, attach the hood to neck edge on jacket by over sewing with needle and yarn, easing any fullness as you go.


Close gap underarms, weave in all loose ends of yarn, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
