1 mtr of 6mm ribbon

Rosebuds, Ribbon Bows and one Animal Motif to decorate


GAUGE - 5sc and 5 rows of sc's measure approx 1 Inch using 4.00mm hook

With color 1 ch54, (RS) 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each of next 6ch, 3sc in next ch, 1sc in each of next 9ch, 3sc in next ch, 1sc in each of next 17ch, 3sc in next ch, 1sc in each of next 9ch, 3sc in next ch, 1sc in each of next 7ch. Turn. (61sc)

Continue in rounds without turning as follows:-


Pattern Round - sl st to ch1 space of first shell group, (ch3, 1dc, ch1, 2dc) in same 1 space, work 1 shell group in ch1 space of each shell to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.


Rpt Pattern Round until 15 rounds have been worked or work measures approx 11.5 inches from shoulder. Fasten off.


Join in color 2 to space between shell and ch3, ch1, work 1sc in base of ch1, 5dc in ch1 space of shell group, * 1sc in space between shell groups, 5dc in ch1 space of shell group, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With WS facing rejoin color 1 to first un-worked sc under arm, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 26sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (27sc) (we will close the small hole you created from slip stitching to first sc later in the finishing section of the pattern)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work one more row of 1sc in each sc, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.


Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing rejoin color 1 to side of dc on skirt at base of right hand side of back edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 19 more sc evenly in row ends to neck edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around neck, 3sc in corner, 20sc evenly in row ends down second back edge. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 1sc in corner. Fasten off. (22sc)


Buttonhole Row - Return to first back edge, working from neck downwards, starting from corner with WS facing ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 7sc, * rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of the remaining sc. Fasten off. (3 buttonholes made) Turn.


Join in color 2, work 1sc in each sc and ch2 space up first back edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc around neck, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.


Finishing - Close small gaps underarm, weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, thread ribbon through alternate dc's under yoke and tie in a bow, decorate with Rosebuds.


Bolero - Using color 2, rpt from # to # on dress. Turn.


Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. (71sc) Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With WS facing rejoin color 1 to first un-worked sc under arm, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 26sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (27sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.


Rpt last row until 26 rows have been worked from division or under arm seam measures approx 5 inches. Fasten off.


Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing rejoin color 2 to base of right hand side of front edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 18 more sc evenly in row ends to neck edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around neck, 3sc in corner, 18sc evenly in row ends down second back edge. Turn.


Buttonhole Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc around neck, 1sc in corner, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off. (1 buttonhole made)


Finishing - Close small gaps underarm, weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim, sew on button to correspond with buttonhole, decorate with animal motif and ribbon bows.
