Materials

30 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in main colour

10 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in contrast colour

4.00mm crochet hook

TENSION - 5tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Beanie Hat (Made in rounds without turning to brim) -

Using main colour yarn make a magic circle, with 4.00mm hook make 3ch, work 11tr into ring, pull loose thread to close circle, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (11tr + 3ch)

2nd Row - (Inc) 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (22tr + 3ch)

3rd Row - (Inc) 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr in next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (33tr + 3ch)

4th Row - (Inc) 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (44tr + 3ch)

5th Row - (Inc) 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr,* rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (55tr + 3ch)

6th Row - (Inc) 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (66tr + 3ch)

 

7th Row - 3ch, 1tr in each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row 6 more times, making 13 rows in all from beginning. Fasten off.

Join in contrast colour, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to last tr, 2dc into last tr, ss to first dc. Turn. (68dc)

Brim - Working into back loop only make 2ch, 2tr into base of 2ch, * miss 2dc, (1dc, 2tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, miss last dc, 1dc into base of 2ch, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (23 groups)

Pattern Row - Re-join main colour with a # ss to first dc, 2ch, 2tr into first dc, * miss 2tr, (1dc, 2tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr, miss last 2tr, 1dc into base of 2ch, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. Turn. # Rpt from # to # twice more. Fasten off.

Join in contrast colour and rpt Pattern Row twice. Fasten off.

With WS facing re-join contrast colour yarn to loose loops around the bottom of the brim. (see pic)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off. (68dc)

Finishing - Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn. Turn through to RS, fold brim back onto front of hat.
