Worked in one piece starting with yoke - Using 4.00mm hook and main colour yarn, make 55ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into the next 6ch (front), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into next 8ch (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 17ch (back), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into

the next 8ch (front). Turn. (60tr + 3ch)


2nd Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.


3rd Row - Working into back loop of stitch, make 3ch, 1tr into the next 8dc, 3tr into next dc, 1tr into next 10dc, 3tr into next dc, 1tr into the next 19dc, 3tr into next dc, 1tr into the next 10dc, 3tr into the next dc, 1tr into the next 9dc. Turn.

Join in contrast colour yarn.


Pattern Row 1 - Make 5ch, * (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre tr of group, 2ch, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.


Pattern Row 2 - 3ch, miss 2ch, * (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into 2ch space between dc’s, miss 2ch, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into 3rd of 5ch. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 in contrast colour 7 more times. Fasten off.


Join in main colour yarn.


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 once or until work measures 11.5” from shoulder.

Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - With 4.00mm hook, and WS facing rejoin main colour to centre tr

of 5tr at base of armhole.


Next Row - Working through both loops of stitch make 1ch, 1dc into same tr, 1dc into each of next 31tr, 1dc into centre of 5tr on opposite side of armhole, ss to

first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (33dc)


Next Row - Working into back loop make 3ch, 1tr into each dc to end, ss to top

of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (32tr + 3ch)


Rpt last 2 rows until 7tr rows have been worked in all from yoke or underarm sleeve seam measures approx 4.5 Inches. Fasten off. Turn.


Cuff - With 4.00mm hook join in contrast colour yarn, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row.


Next Row - Working into front loop of stitch make 3ch, miss 2dc * (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into next dc, miss 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss last 2dc, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. (10 Groups)


Row 1 - Work through both loops of stitch from now on, make 5ch, * (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre tr of group, 2ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to 3rd of 5ch.


Row 2 - 3ch, miss 2ch, * (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into 2ch space between dc’s, miss 2ch,

* rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.


Rpt Row 1 & 2 once. Fasten off. Turn cuff back onto RS of sleeve.


Collar - With 4.50mm hook and WS facing rejoin contrast colour yarn to neck edge, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (53dc)


Next Row - Working into front loop of stitch make 3ch, miss 1dc, * (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into next dc, miss 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1tr into last dc. Turn. (17 Groups)


Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 from skirt twice. Fasten off.


Button/Buttonhole Bands (Written for a boy, but can be changed to opposite side for a girl) - Starting with WS facing, using 4.00mm hook join main colour yarn at neck edge on right hand front, working downwards work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 51 more dc evenly along into row ends. Turn. (52dc)


Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Next Row - Working on WS join main colour to lower front edge, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 51 more dc evenly along into row ends up to neck edge. Turn.


Next Row (Buttonholes) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 10dc, * rpt from * to * three more times, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into remaining dc. Turn.


Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Fasten off.


Finishing - Close small gaps underarms, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn.
