Cardigan (Back) - With 4.00mm hook and color 1, ch7, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (6sc)

Rib - Working in back loop of stitch only, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in sc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 43 rows have been worked in all from beginning.

Do not turn, work in row ends along side of rib ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each row end to end. Turn. (43sc)

Next Row - ch1, (1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in base of ch1, * skip 2sc, (1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3sc, skip 2sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn. (14 Groups)

Pattern Row - ch1, (1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in base of ch1, * skip 2st, (1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3st, skip 2st, 1sc in last sc. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until 6 pattern rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in color 2 and rpt Pattern Row until 32 pattern rows have been worked in all from rib. Fasten off.

Left Front - # With 4.00mm hook and color 1, ch7, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (6sc)

Rpt last row until 19 rows have been worked in all from beginning.

Rpt Pattern Row from back until 6 pattern rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn. (6 Groups)

Shape Neck - Skip 6st, rejoin color 2 to next sc, ch1, (1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in base of ch1, * skip 2st, (1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3st, skip 2st, 1sc in last sc. Turn. (4 Groups)

Rpt Pattern Row until 32 rows have been worked in all from rib. Fasten off.

Right Front - Work same as Left from # to #

Shape Neck - Work Pattern Row from back until last 3 groups, skip 2st, 1sc in next sc. Turn, leaving last 2 groups un-worked. (4 Groups)

Rpt Pattern Row until 32 pattern rows have been worked in all from rib. Fasten off.

Sleeves x 2 - With 4.00mm hook and color 1, ch7, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (6sc)

Rib - Working in back loop of stitch only ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row until 27 rows have been worked in all from beginning.

Do not turn, working in row ends along side of rib ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each row end to end. Turn. (27sc)

2nd Row - ch1, 2hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each sc to last sc, 2hdc in last sc. Turn. (29hdc)

3rd & 4th Row - ch1, 1hdc in base of ch1, 1hdc in each hdc to end. Turn.

Rpt 2nd to 4th Rows until you have 31hdc and 6 hdc rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in color 2 and continue to rpt 2nd to 4th Rows until you have 37hdc and 15 hdc rows have been worked from rib. Fasten off. Turn.

Over sew or sl st shoulder seams together.

Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing, color 1 and using 5.00mm hook, start on lower edge of right hand front edge, ch1, work 32sc evenly in row ends to corner, 3sc in corner, work 12sc evenly along first neck edge to shoulder, 1sc in each of next 18sc across back, 12sc evenly along second neck edge, 3sc in corner, work 32sc evenly in row ends down second front edge. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1 more row in sc all around cardigan working 3sc in corners. Turn.

Button Band - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to neck edge, turn at neck edge.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.

Buttonhole Row - Return to opposite front edge, with RS facing working from neck down, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 6sc, * rpt from * to * 3 more times, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of last 5sc. Turn. (5 Buttonholes made)

 

Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end. Fasten off.

Finishing - Fold sleeves in half lengthways, place centre stitch to shoulder seams, over sew with needle and yarn or sl st in position.

Join side and sleeve seams together by over sewing with needle and yarn or sl st.

Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
