Materials

25 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in White (001) Main colour

Small amount of King Cole big value baby DK in 3 Contrast Colours

5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 6htr and 3 rows of htr's measures approx 1” Square

Commence with Sole - With 4.00mm hook and main colour, make 11ch, (RS) 3htr into 4th ch from hook, 1htr into each of next 6ch, 8htr into last ch, working on opposite side of cast on ch, work 1htr into each of next 6ch, 4htr into last ch, ss

to top of the 3ch on beginning of row. DNT. (27htr + 3ch)

Next Round - 2ch, work 2htr into each of next 3htr, 1htr into each of next 8htr,

2htr into each of next 6htr, 1htr into each of next 8htr, 2htr into each of last 2htr, 1htr into base of 2ch, ss to top of 2ch. DNT. (39htr + 2ch).

 

Next Round - 2ch, miss first htr, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into base of 2ch,

ss to top of 2ch. DNT. (39htr + 2ch).

 

Next Round - Working into back loop of stitch only, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each htr to end, ss to first dc. Turn (40dc)

 

Next Round - Working through both loops make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn (40dc). Rpt last row once. Fasten off.

 

Instep

With WS facing and counting from where you fastened off, miss 10dc, rejoin yarn with a ss too next dc, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next 19dc. Turn leaving 10dc un-worked. (20dc)

 

Next Row - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, (see abbrev above) 9 times, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (11dc)

 

Next Row - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc in base of 1ch, (dec 1dc over next 2dc) 5 times. Turn. (6dc)

 

Next Row - Make 1ch, insert hook and pull up loop in each dc, yrh and pull through

all 7 loops on hook to close, work 1ch. Fasten off.

 

Top - With 4.00mm hook, main colour and WS facing rejoin yarn to back seam, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each of next 9dc, 8dc evenly across top of instep, work 1dc into each of next 10dc, ss to first dc. Turn. (28dc)

Next Row - 3ch, 2tr into base of 3ch, * miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, miss 1dc, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, miss 1dc, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off. (7, 3tr Groups)

 

Pattern Row - Working into back loop only of all dc's and using first contrast colour, join yarn with a ss to first dc, 3ch, 2tr into same dc, * miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, miss 1tr, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, miss 1tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off. Rpt Pattern Row once in each of the remaining 2 contrast colours. Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Row twice in main colour. Fasten off.

 

With 5.00mm hook and top of bootie towards you, rejoin main colour yarn with a

ss to back seam, make 1ch, work one row of crab stitch, (see abbrev above) into loose loops on sole of bootie, ss to first dc on beginning or row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn.
