5.50mm crochet hook
2 Decorative Buttons for Nappy Cover
TENSION - 4htr and 3 rows of htr's measures approx 1 Inch

Nappy Cover - With 5.50mm hook make 53ch loosely, work 1tr into 4th ch from hook,
1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (50tr + 3ch)
Row 2 - 3ch, * 1trf into next tr, 1trb into next tr, * (see abbrev for trf & trb)
rpt from
* to * to 3ch to turn, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
Row 3 - 2ch, 1htr into each stitch to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn. Rpt last row
twice more. Turn. Fasten off.
Row 6 - Miss 14htr, re-join yarn to next htr, make 2ch, 1htr into each of next 22htr,
turn leaving 13htr and 2ch un-worked. (22htr + 2ch)
Row 7 - 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn.
Row 8 - (Dec Row) 2ch, dec 1htr (see abbrev) over next 2htr, 1htr into each of next
17htr, dec 1htr over next 2htr, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn. (20htr + 2ch)
Row 9 - 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn.
Row 10 (Dec Row) 2ch, dec 1htr over next 2htr, 1htr into each of next 15htr, dec
1htr over next 2htr, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn. (18htr + 2ch)
Row 11 - 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn. Rpt last row
13 more times, making 24 rows in all. Turn.
Row 25 - 3ch, 1tr into each htr to end, 1tr into top of 2ch. Turn. (18tr + 3ch)
Row 26 - 3ch, * 1trf into next tr, 1trb into next tr, * rpt from * to * to 3ch to
turn, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. Fasten off.
Edge - With contrast colour yarn and 5.50mm hook, make 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch,
working 3dc into all corners work dc evenly all around cover to end, 1dc into base
of 1ch, ss to first dc. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Finishing - Sew decorative buttons to each side on the front flap.
(Use gaps between tr's to fasten)
Beanie Hat - (Made in rounds without turning until Row 6)
With 5.50mm hook and main colour yarn, make a magic circle, 3ch, work 11tr into circle,
pull loose thread to close, join with ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.
Row 2 - 3ch, 1tr in base of 3ch, 2tr in each of next 11tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning
of row. (23tr + 3ch)
Row 3 - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into
next tr,
* rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (35tr + 3ch)
Row 4 - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr,
1tr into each of next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning
of row.
(47tr + 3ch)
Row 5 - 3ch, 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * 2tr
into next tr, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr, 2tr into
next tr, 1tr into each
of last 3tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (55tr + 3ch)
Rows 6-10 - 2ch, 1htr into each stitch to end ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row.
TURN.
Row 11 - 3ch, 1tr into each htr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Brim - 3ch, * 1trf into next tr, 1trb into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss
to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.
Join in contrast, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first
dc. Starting with 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off.
Motif x 2 - I used a snail motif from my sister website, click here to get it .
Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, attach motifs to front of
hat and nappy cover.
