4.50mm crochet hook, 3 buttons


GAUGE - 4dc and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in one piece, starting with yoke


Using color 1 ch55, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in the next 6ch’s (front), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in next 8ch’s (shoulder), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 17ch’s (back), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch’s. (shoulder), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch’s (front). Turn. (60dc + 3ch)


2nd Row - (Inc Row) 3ch, * 1dc in each dc to next 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre dc of 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre dc of 3dc group, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of 3ch. Turn. (68dc + 3ch)

 

3rd to 6th Row - rpt 2nd Row. Turn. (100dc + 3ch)

 

7th Row - (Inc & Divide for Armholes) - ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc,* rpt from * to * to centre dc of the first 3dc group, 2dc in centre dc, skip next 20dc, 1dc in centre dc of next 3dc group, rpt from * to * to centre dc of next 3dc group, skip next 20dc, rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of 3ch, Turn. (89dc + 3ch)


Commence Body - (see abbrev for instructions on vst and shell)

3ch, skip 1dc, * shell in next dc, skip 2dc, vst in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc and 3ch, skip 2dc, shell in next dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in top of 3ch. Turn. (15 shells, 14 vst, 1dc + 3ch)


Pattern Row - 3ch, * work shell in ch1 space of next shell, vst in ch1 space on next vst, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of 3ch. Turn.


Rpt Pattern Row until 14 shell & vst rows have been worked in all from yoke or work measures approx 11 Inches from shoulder. Fasten off.


Sleeves x 2 - Join color 1 to side of dc under arm, ch3, 1dc in same space, 1dc in each of next 20dc, 2dc in side of dc on opposite side of sleeve, sl st to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (23dc + 3ch)


Next Row - ch3, work (1dc, ch1, 2dc) in base of 3ch, * skip 2dc, vst in next dc, skip 2dc, shell in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc, skip 2dc, vst in next dc, skip 2dc, sl st to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (4 shells & 4 vst)


1st Pattern Row - sl st over dc and in first ch1 space, (ch4, 1dc) in same ch1 space, * shell in ch1 space of next shell, vst in ch1 space of next vst, * rpt from * to * to last shell, work shell in shell, sl st to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.


2nd Pattern Row - sl st over dc's and in first ch1 space, (ch3, 1dc, ch1, 2dc) in same ch1 space, * vst in ch1 space of next vst, shell in ch1 space of next shell, * rpt from * to * to last vst, work vst in vst, sl st to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.


Rpt 1st & 2nd Pattern Row twice, work 1st Pattern Row once, under arm sleeve seam should measure approx 5 Inches. Fasten off. Turn.


Cuff - Join in color 2, skipping all ch1 spaces, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (24sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row, work 3 more rows of 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.


Button/Buttonhole Bands - With RS facing rejoin color 1 to right hand side of front edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 41 more sc evenly in row ends to neck edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around neck, 3sc in corner, 42sc evenly in row ends down second front edge. Fasten off. Turn.


Next Row - Join in color 2, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 1sc in corner. Turn. (44sc)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1 and turning at the end of each row, work 2 more rows of 1sc in each sc. Fasten off.


Return to first back edge and starting from corner and working from neck downwards, with WS facing ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.


Buttonhole Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 27sc * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 6sc, * rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn. (3 buttonholes made)


Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each 2ch space and sc to end. Fasten off.


Finishing - Close small gap under arms, weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim off, attach buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
